Mahoning Valley Volunteer Fire Company will receive a nearly $70,000 federal grant, U.S. Sen. Bob Caseyannounced this week.

The Assistance to Firefighters Grant, which is overseen by the Federal Emergency Management Agency under the Department of Homeland Security, is $69,334 and will be used for operations and safety of the fire department."Pennsylvania's firefighters endure risk and sacrifice every day to keep their community safe," Casey said. "This money will help provide Lehighton's firefighters with the resources they need to ensure their safety and the safety of those they serve."
