Tamaqua man violated PFA

A Tamaqua man was cited for violating a protection from abuse order on June 26.

On that day, Tamaqua Police received a report about an assault in the unit block of North Greenwood Street. When officers arrived, they spoke with the female victim, who said Timothy Flores, 30, had grabbed her by the throat during an argument. She had an active PFA against Torres, one that allowed him to live at her residence as long as he didn't harm her. She admitted throwing a shirt at him and had a visible bruise on her neckTorres told police the woman threw a shirt at him while he was holding their baby. He used his right forearm to push her away when she attempted to attack him.He was arraigned before District Judge Stephen Bayer on contempt charges. He was released on unsecured bail, with the condition of having no contact with the victim. He was transported to a friend's place on North Railroad Street.
