East Penn supervisor to be treasurer, roadmaster

Vice Chairman Richard DeLuca added two extra titles to his East Penn Township supervisor's duties Tuesday night.

A motion was made for DeLuca to act as assistant treasurer and the roadmaster for East Penn. The assistant treasurer will not be a paid position, however DeLuca will receive $500 a month for 15 hours a week as roadmaster."No disrespect, but what qualifications do you have for roadmaster," said former board supervisor David Bryfogle."I've been following the letter of the engineer's report," DeLuca said."Have you ever done road work," Bryfogle asked."No, but we're getting a lot of work done on the roads identified in other meetings," said DeLuca."As a supervisor, did you ever review the list of roads," Supervisor Chairman William Schwab asked Bryfogle.Bryfogle said he had, but took issue with spending money on the township's park while the roads still need repair."What's more important? Parks are nice but there are big potholes at the end of my driveway," he said.DeLuca agreed to meet Bryfogle on Friday morning to look at the potholes and figure out a repair plan.
