An American Red Cross Bloodmobile will be in Tamaqua from 1-6 p.m. July 13 at the Salvation Army Community Center, 105 W. Broad St.Anyone 17 or older, in good general health, who weighs at least 110 pounds is eligible to donate blood. Walk-ins are also welcome.Summer lunchThe South Ward Playground Association is providing a free lunch from now through Aug. 19.The free summer lunch program is open to children up to and including the age of 18. Lunches will be served weekdays, from noon to 1 p.m., at the South Ward Playground.The program is an offshoot of the free school lunch program, with funding provided by the U.S. Department of Agriculture. The nondiscriminatory program is open to all children, regardless of race, origin, religion, etc. In addition to a healthy lunch, participants will be offered a variety of summer activities.The playground is located between Penn and Race streets in Tamaqua's South Ward.Zion LewistownPastor Jim Williams will officiate at the 10:30 a.m. worship service this Sunday in Zion Church of the Lewistown Valley. The service will include Holy Communion. Sunday school classes meet at 9:15 a.m.A blood drive for the Miller-Keystone Blood Center will be held from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. July 10.Community saleTamaqua's 17th Annual Sidewalk and Community Yard Sale will be heldAug. 6 between the hours of 9 a.m. and 1 p.m. Vendors will have the opportunity to have their wares showcased on Broad Street, while residents participating in the yard sale will have their addresses included on a map.
