A Schuylkill County driver was injured in a one-vehicle crash that occurred at 6:20 p.m. on Monday along Interstate 81 in Ryan Township.

State police at Frackville said Kenneth B. Edwards, 24, of Pottsville, was driving a 2007 Honda Fit southbound in the passing lane attempting to pass another vehicle when that vehicle began to merge into the passing lane.Edwards applied his brakes and swerved to avoid being hit and lost control of his vehicle. The Fit went off the road, started to spin counter-clockwise, then traveled up a small embankment. The Fit struck several small trees, rolled over once, and came to rest on its wheels just off the southbound lane.Edwards complained of pain to his left arm and was taken by Ryan Township ambulance to the Schuylkill Medical Center-S. Jackson St., Pottsville for treatment.The Fit was towed from the scene.
