June 28, 2010 - Dane Ciavarella collects two hits and gains the pitching win as the Jim Thorpe Bruins defeat the Franklin Township Patriots, 6-2, to capture the Carbon County Babe Ruth championship. Ciavarella finishes with two runs scored, and retires the final six batters he faces to preserve the victory. The Bruins, coached by Sean Sterling, receive a two-run single from Josh Thompson and an RBI triple off the bat of Christian Gavornik. Shane Snisky also chips in with a hit and run scored.
