Tamaqua man cited after outburst

A man who said he blocked a busy Tamaqua street because he was buying drugs will answer to charges.

According to police, a couple reported they were driving on Schuylkill Avenue on June 15. As they proceeded on the narrow, one-lane street, they encountered a silver Jeep double parked, blocking their way.The couple stated they requested the driver to move the vehicle when he began yelling at them, saying he was trying to buy drugs.According to the police report, the man then approached the passenger side of the couple's car and tore the rain shield off the window. The man then drove away at an unsafe rate of speed. The victims took a picture of the Jeep's license plate and reported it to police.As a result, Eugene D. Moerder Jr., 40, of 19 E. Elm St., was cited with criminal mischief, disorderly conduct and was issued a traffic citation for double parking.
