The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation has scheduled a public meeting Tuesday to discuss the planned replacement of a bridge on Route 209 in Mahoning Township that is scheduled to occur this summer.

The bridge slated for replacement carries Mauch Chunk Street (Route 209) over the Beaver Run, near its intersection with Packerton Dam Drive.Local officials and members of the public are invited to attend a presentation about the plan Tuesday at the Mahoning Township municipal building, located at 2685 Mahoning Drive East.PennDOT officials and representatives of the contractor, Plenary Walsh Keystone Partners, will be available to answer questions.The project is part of PennDOT's Rapid Bridge Replacment Project -- meaning Plenary Walsh will finance, design, replace and maintain the bridge over the next 25 years.The public presentation will begin at 5 p.m. Public officials are invited to their own session at 3 p.m.
