The Lehighton 150 Celebration Committee will hold a Sesquicentennial Showcase beginning at 5 p.m. July 1 at the PFC. Clyde R. Houser Annex Building, 110 North Third St.

The showcase will feature local girls who will participate in two categories of competition.Little Miss Sesquicentennial is for girls ages 6 to 10, and the Sesquicentennial Princess is for girls ages 11-15.The Little Miss contestants are Serenity Foreaker, Ryleigh Hansler, Lucinda Laverne, Isabel Warner and Vivian Zimmerman, while the princess contestants are Sophia Foreaker and Jenna Kroboth.The contestants will be judged in a photogenic category, as well as opening number and party dress walk.The girls will participate in interviews, as well as dress in historical costumes spanning 1866 through 1966.Costumes will include Native American, Colonial dress from the 1800s, and a World War II Rosie the Riveter inspired outfit.The girls have worked hard over the past few weeks, and this showcase will put a smile on everyone's face.All of the contestants will be featured on a float in the Sesquicentennial Parade.
