Five charged in rash of Pocono burglaries

Five people have been charged in connection with a rash of burglaries that occurred in the Pocono Pines area of Monroe County.

Pocono Mountain Regional police said the arrests were the result of a two-month investigation of 13 break-ins that resulted in the theft of electronic devices, cash, jewelry and alcohol from the homes.As the result of a search warrant served on the suspects' residence, police recovered stolen items as well as marijuana and drug paraphernalia.The suspects arrested and the charges filed against them are:Michael Joseph Benson, 18, burglary, criminal conspiracy, criminal trespass, possessing instruments of crime, theft by unlawful taking or disposition, receiving stolen property, criminal mischief and loitering and prowling at nighttime.Unique Rainey, 18, burglary, criminal conspiracy, criminal trespass, theft and criminal mischief.Michale Charles Benson, 38, possession of a small amount of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.Nicole Benson, 37, possession of a small amount of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.A 17-year-old juvenile, possession of a small amount of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.All live at a residence along Beechspring Drive, in Pocono Pines, where the break-ins occurred.
