An Allentown man is charged with drug-related violations after dozing off inside a vehicle.

According to the police incident report, police responded on the evening of June 10 to a report of a man asleep inside a car on the 100 block of Penn Street. Gregoria Flores, 36, of 923 S. Meadow St., told police he was in town visiting a friend, although he said he didn't know his friend's first name. Police said they noticed drug paraphernalia in plain view on the driver's side floor mat below the driver's seat.Police said Flores was asked to step out of the vehicle, which he did, but then fled between two houses before police caught and handcuffed him.The vehicle was towed from the scene and searched. Two blue wax packets with a brown powdery substance, one clear bag containing white crystal powder, a straw and a lighter were found. The evidence was forwarded to the state police lab for testing.Flores is expected to be charged with resisting arrest, drug possession and paraphernalia violations.
