New York driver in Monroe crash

A New York state driver was injured in a one-vehicle crash along Interstate 80 in Tunkhannock Township, Monroe County, about 7:03 p.m. on Sunday.

State police at Fern Ridge said Stephen J. Levandoski, 62, of Yonkers, was driving a 2011 Jeep Liberty eastbound when he may have suffered a medial episode and passed out. The Jeep crossed over the left lane and onto the berm where it struck several large trees with its front end, then rolled over onto its roof. Levandoski managed to extricate himself from the vehicle, troopers said.He was taken to the Pocono Medical Center, East Stroudsburg, by Pocono Regional EMS. The Jeep had to be towed from the scene.Troopers cited Levandoski for the crash.
