A Monroe County man is facing drug charges following an incident that occurred on June 1 about 12:30 p.m. in the parking lot of the Wawa store in Blakeslee.

Pocono Mountain Regional police said officers observed Ryan Worthington, 33, of Eldred, staggering toward his vehicle.Worthington entered his vehicle, started the engine and then slumped over the front wheel.Police then approached the vehicle to check on Worthington. A further investigation revealed that he was under the influence of a controlled substance and had in his possession 12 baggies of heroin and one hypodermic needle.He was placed under arrest and charged with possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia and driving under the influence of a controlled substance.He was arraigned before District Judge Richard Claypool of Pocono Pines, with bail set at $10,000.He was unable to post bail and was committed to the county prison in Snydersville.
