Delaware River Shad Fishermen's Association and Blue Mountain Fish and Game Club will present the 10th anniversary of Youth Outdoor Adventures on June 18 at Blue Mountain Fish and Game Association, 4190 Wood Drive, Walnutport.
This program is free and available for children ages 8-15.This year the topics will be fishing, ethics, bait knowledge, helping wildlife, knot tying, canoe safety, archery, ice-fishing safety, casting and a "mystery station."Everyone starts the day with a free hat and shirt and a tasty breakfast at 7 a.m.A lunch is served at 12:05 p.m.Trophies will be awarded. The children will also take home literature bags filled with information about the great outdoors.This year there will be a drawing for prizes and each child will go home with a door prize.The program concludes at 5:45 p.m.This is a combined effort with many organizations and businesses to provide all the materials and volunteers needed to present the children with safety tips and knowledge about the outdoor activities.If you are interested in volunteering to help with this public event or would like to register students, or if you need more details, contact David Carl at
