A man wanted in connection with a homicide in New York is believed to have ties to Carbon County.

The New York Police Department has an active warrant for Manuel Waisome, 23, whose last known address is in Brooklyn, New York.Waisome is listed as 5 feet, 7 inches tall and weighing 132 pounds, with brown hair and brown eyes.Lansford Police Department posted a flyer of Waisome on Facebook that was issued by the Police Department of the City of New York Detective Bureau.Waisome is believed to have connections in Lansford and Hazleton, according to Lansford Police Chief Jack Soberick.Soberick said Waisome committed a homicide with a gun on Nov. 24 in New York City.“We’re asking the public to be alert,” Soberick said. “There is information that he has been seen in this area.”Soberick said the public should use caution if they encounter Waisome.He said anyone with information should contact the Lansford Police Department at 570-645-5844.
