Hospice hosts butterfly ceremony

Compassionate Care Hospice is hosting a "Celebration of Life: Butterfly Release Ceremony" on June 25 at the Carbon County Environmental Education Center in Summit Hill.

Daniel Miller, CCH liaison, said the event is open to the public and "gives the community an opportunity to come together to honor loved ones who have passed.""Releasing of the butterfly is a symbolic gesture and can help someone put their loved one's journey in perspective," Miller said. The event will begin at 11 a.m. with light refreshments to follow.A similar release was held at the CCEEC in 2013."It's a venue where people can talk to other people who have gone through the difficult time of losing a loved one," Miller said.To reserve a butterfly, call Michelle at 610-770-6500 by Friday.
