Seven first-time offenders were placed in Carbon County's Accelerated Rehabilitation Disposition probation program on Friday by Judge Joseph J. Matika.

If a person successfully completes all conditions of the program, their record is wiped clean. However, if they fail to complete it or are revoked from it, then they would face trial on all pending charges. A person does not admit guilt in entering the program.All were placed for a year, unless otherwise noted.Robert Hans Christoph, 23, of Havertown, Delaware County, was placed on a driving under the influence charge. He was arrested on Sept. 13, 2015, by Kidder Township police along Route 903. A test showed 0.18 BAC.He was assessed $550 for the costs of the program and ordered to render 50 hours of community service and license suspended for 60 days.Rebecca Lee Dewitsky, 25, of Pocono Pines, was placed on a DUI charge. She was arrested on Nov. 29, 2015, along Interstate 80 in Kidder Township by state police at Fern Ridge. A test showed 0.08 BAC.She was assessed $500, ordered to render 50 hours of community service and her license suspended for 30 days.Lissett Odalys Guzman, 30, of Lansford, was placed on a charge of simple assault. She was arrested on Feb. 15 by Lansford police for an incident in the area of 259 E. Abbott St.She was assessed $450 and ordered to render 50 hours of community service, attend and complete anger management counseling, make restitution of $60 and have no contact with the victim.Heather Nicole Kokinda, 27, of Hazleton, was placed on a theft charge. She was arrested on Feb. 1, 2015, by Weatherly police.She was assessed $450 and ordered to render 50 hours of community service, make total restitution of $273, zero tolerance for drug and alcohol and have no contact with the victim.Ashley Marie Millere, 28, of Andreas, was placed on a charge of possession of drug paraphernalia. She was arrested on Feb. 20 by Mahoning Township police for an incident in the area of 365 Valley View Road.She was assessed $650 and ordered to render 50 hours of community service and get a drug and alcohol evaluation.Francis J. Petrucci Jr., 32, of Tamaqua, was placed on a DUI charge. He was arrested on Jan. 7 along Patterson Street by Lansford police. A test showed the presence of a controlled substance.He was assessed $600, ordered to render 50 hours of community service and his license was suspended for 60 days.April L. Stevens, 30, of Lansford, was placed on a charge of unlawful use of a computer. She was charged by Lansford police for an incident on Nov. 4, 2015, for sending harassing messages by computer.She was assessed $650 and ordered to render 50 hours of community service and have no contact with the victim.Each defendant must also pay court costs of about $1,000 and a $50 per month supervision fee while in the program. Those charged with DUI must also follow all recommendations of their drug and alcohol evaluation.
