Two pedestrians killed Saturday night in Schuylkill incidents

Two pedestrians were killed, within 20 minutes of each other, in separate incidents in Schuylkill County on Saturday night.

A Hazleton man died about 10:42 p.m. when struck by a vehicle along Route 924 in West Mahanoy Township, while a Ringtown resident died about 10:59 p.m. along Interstate 81 in Delano Township, near the Delano exit.Onisimo P. Asenoio, 24, died after he got out of his vehicle and walked into the northbound lane of 924. State police at Frackville said a 1999 Toyota Rav 4 was being driven northbound when it struck Asenoio. Troopers said the driver of the Toyota, Monica L. Arnold, 19, of Saint Cair, attempted to avoid Asenoio but could not. Two passengers, Derec Kovach, 20, of Ringtown and Abigail Foose, 18, of Mahanoy City, were in Arnold's car. No one was injured.State police at Schuylkill Haven said Raymond Milosh III, 40, was struck after his vehicle became disabled along the right berm of the southbound lanes of the interstate. A 26-year-old man, driving a 2004 Ford Explorer southbound, swerved to the left in an attempt to avoid Milosh but could not. Milosh was pronounced dead at the scene. Troopers said the driver of the Ford and passengers were not injured. The Ford had to be towed from the scene.No charges are pending in either incident.
