Fire companies from Carbon and Northampton counties were on the Blue Mountain Monday night searching for three lost hikers. Emergency personnel from Carbon and Northampton counties brought three hikers to safety about 8:30 p.m. The three were walked down off the Blue Mountain using the winter trail in the Lehigh Gap.

One was placed in an ambulance for an evaluation. The group said they were from Bethlehem.

One, a female, was reported to be suffering from heat exhaustion and another an anxiety attack. They wandered off the Appalachian Trail and were not sure where they were.
