The conditional use hearing before the Chestnuthill board of supervisors was continued until 4 p.m. Aug. 10. The continuance is to give the developer additional time to address a number of modification requests with the township's planning commission before bringing them to the supervisors.

By moving the hearing into August the parties will have at least two supervisors meetings to discuss the reasons behind the requests before the actual hearing takes place.One possible modification would be to the exterior design of the Gerrity's grocery store. The township ordinance requires buildings over a certain length to appear as though it is a series of separate shops. A traditional grocery store design would not meet this criteria.Another request will center on the number of parking spaces required by the ordinance. The ordinance in place calls for 734 parking spaces and the plan only allows for 614. The planned Martz Trailways' park and ride will contain 129 of those spaces.The Mount Effort Development Company LLC will meet with the planning commission on June 15 to review the preliminary land development plans. At that time the parties will discuss the various modification requests. The planning commission meets at 7 p.m.
