Six defendants in pending criminal cases entered guilty pleas on Thursday in the county court before President Judge Roger N. Nanovic II.

Dion Scott Smith Jr., 28, of Palmerton, pleaded to one count of receiving stolen property.He was arrested by Palmerton police for an incident on April 28, 2014, in which he took a baby stroller from a porch in the borough. The owner traced the stroller through a Facebook posting of a yard sale in Palmerton. The police then traced the theft incident to Smith.Smith was on probation in Northampton County at the time of the incident, Nanovic noted.Nanovic placed him on probation for a year, consecutive to any sentence he is currently serving in Northampton County. Smith was also ordered to pay a fine of $500, get a drug and alcohol evaluation, and zero tolerance for drug and alcohol use.Amy Sue Frohnheiser, 38, of Palmerton, pleaded to one count of unsworn falsification to law enforcement. In exchange for the plea a charge of theft was dropped.Franklin Township police charged Frohnheiser with taking a jar of change from the home of Diane Polka, Pohopoco Drive on Nov. 7, 2014. The change totaled about $72.Sentencing was deferred.John Anthony Medina, 46, of Temple, Berks County, pleaded to one count of statement under penalty. He was charged by state police at Fern Ridge for an incident on Sept. 20, 2014, at Eastern Arms & Outfitters, located along Route 903 in Penn Forest Township. Troopers said he filled out an application to purchase a Smith and Wesson handgun and falsely answered questions concerning any prior criminal arrests. He had prior arrests in New York state which he failed to report in the application.Nanovic placed him on probation for six months.Amber Colleen Defiore, 23, of Lehighton, pleaded to one count of flight to avoid apprehension.She was arrested on March 15 by state police at Lehighton following a traffic stop along Skyline Drive in Franklin Township. When the vehicle stopped Defiore fled out the passenger side and ran despite commands from the trooper to stop. She was later apprehended.Defiore is currently an inmate in the county prison.Sentencing was deferred.Andrew Lee Moll, 24, of Jim Thorpe, pleaded to two summary motor vehicle code violations of improper sunscreen and altered exhaust system. He was involved in the incident with Defiore.Nanovic imposed fines totaling $50 and costs.Mary Jo Allen, 33, of Claymont, Delaware, and formerly of Lehighton, pleaded to one count of failure to apply for dog license, a summary offense. The charge was added to the criminal complaint in a plea bargain. A charge of dogs not validly registered, a misdemeanor three, was dropped.She was cited by Dog Law Enforcement unit on Dec. 7, 2015, at 610 Lafayette Ave., in Palmerton.Nanovic imposed a fine of $50 and costs.Each defendant sentenced must also pay court costs of about $1,000 and a $50 per month supervision fee while on probation or parole.
