Carbon County officials approved a number of personnel actions on Thursday.

They include:• Hiring Zachary T. Gulla of Summit Hill as a part-time parking/meter attendant, effective May 27.• Hiring Kasey M. Herman of Jim Thorpe as a lifeguard at Mauch Chunk Lake Park, effective May 28.• Approving the court appointment of Kara Beck of Lehighton as summer law clerk in court administration, effective May 31.• Approving the prison board appointments of Alexander W. Bonner of Jim Thorpe, O'Neil O. Chambers of Albrightsville, Eladio I. Gonzalez of Whitehall and Carl W. Pridgen of McAdoo as corrections officers at the county prison, effective May 31.Other businessThe county commissioners also approved the electronic acceptance of the proposal from Navarro & Wright Consulting Engineers Inc. of New Cumberland in the amount of $316,692.44 for construction inspection services related to the pedestrian bridge project, which will be completed over the Lehigh River in Jim Thorpe and request the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation prepare the contract.The costs are covered under the Transportation Alternatives Program grant that was secured for the project.
