Three teens injured in crash near Tamaqua

Three teens sustained minor injuries in a one-vehicle crash at 10:14 a.m. on Tuesday along Route 209 in Schuylkill Township, near the borough line of Tamaqua.

State police at Frackville said a 17-year-old male from Tamaqua was driving a 1999 Ford F150 pickup truck southbound when it left the road and struck a legally parked 2002 International Harvester. The teen and his two passengers, a 15-year-old boy from Weatherly and a 16-year-old girl from Tamaqua, were injured and taken to St. Luke's Miners Memorial Hospital in Coaldale, by Tamaqua ambulance. The truck had to be towed from the scene. Police did not release their identities.The teen was cited for careless driving.
