Pennsylvania man to prison for driving drunk twice in week

LANCASTER, Pa. (AP) — A central Pennsylvania man will spend three to 10 years in prison for driving drunk twice in one week.

The stiff sentence against 59-year-old Angel Ramirez-Castellano was driven partly by the fact that the new convictions are his fourth and fifth for drunken driving.Police say the New Holland man was pulled over by Lancaster police on May 9, 2015, and a week later by police in East Lampeter Township. On both occasions, the defendant's blood-alcohol content was more than three times the state's legal limit.Lancaster County prosecutors say Ramirez-Castellano has five drunken driving convictions since 2003, and has previously served two state prison sentences as a result. He pleaded guilty to the two newest charges in November and was sentenced earlier this month.
