A 19-year-old man was seriously injured Saturday night in a crash along Pohopoco Drive in Towamensing Township. The man was traveling west and lost control of his Pontiac GTO, which crossed the roadway entering the south berm into a heavily wooded area with dense brush.

He was able to report his accident but emergency responders had a difficult time finding the car because of its location off the roadway. Lehighton paramedics eventually found and treated the man for facial and arm injuries.A request for a medical transport helicopter was denied because of heavy rain in the area. Polk and Towamensing Township fire companies responded to the crash.State police at Lehighton are investigating the incident.Pohopoco Drive was closed for several hours.
