A free car seat checkup will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Thursdayat the Palmerton Ambulance Building, 501 Delaware Ave., Palmerton. The event is sponsored by Kid Zone Blue Mountain Health System and the Pennsylvania State Police.

During the check, a safety specialist will make sure the seat is installed correctly, there are no recalls on the seat and the child fits properly.They will also provide information on when to turn a baby's car seat around to face forward. Parents are asked to bring the child who uses the car seat.The event will be held rain or shine.
