Eldred Township Supervisors accepted the resignation of fellow supervisor Sharon Solt at a special meeting this morning.

Solt was not present at the meeting, but cited personal family reasons for the resignation she tendered this weekend.Chairwoman Mary Anne Clausen and Vice Chairwoman JoAnn Bush voted 2-0 to accept her resignation.Solt’s term is up at the end of 2017, and supervisors said they hope to move quickly to fill that position.Solt has come under fire recently by residents opposed to the zoning ordinance that would allow Nestle to extract water in the township.
