Emmaus high school on lockdown after bullets found in bathroom

EMMAUS, Pa. (AP) - Officials say an eastern Pennsylvania high school was placed on lockdown after two bullets were found in a bathroom, but authorities determined that they were left by someone who hoped to cause an early dismissal.

Emmaus High School said the two .22-caliber bullets were found Monday in a boy's bathroom.

Superintendent Michael Schilder said police and administration officials have identified the person responsible "and have determined that there was no threat." He said no weapons or additional bullets were found.

Schilder said the school will remain on exterior threat lockdown as a precaution, but students will be permitted to move about the building and classes will resume.

In October, discovery of a box of bullets at the school led to a lockdown and closure of the school the following day.
