Bethlehem man jailed after running over Palmerton woman

A Bethlehem man was jailed on Sunday after police said he ran over a woman with his vehicle following a domestic incident in Carbon County.

State police at Lehighton identified the suspect as Sean Francis Leindecker, 30.According to troopers at 9 a.m. on Sunday they were dispatched to 2645 Hahns Dairy Road, in Lower Towamensing Township for a report of a person struck by a car.After further investigation troopers learned that Leindecker and the victim, a Palmerton woman,were involved in a domestic dispute.As Leindecker was attempting to leave the residence he struck the womanwith his vehicle and ran over her.He the fled the scene but was later taken into custody by troopers in Palmerton.The womanwas taken to the Lehigh Valley Hospital-Cedar Crest and admitted for contusions and abrasions all over her body.Leindecker was taken to the barracks in Towamensing Township and charged with aggravated assault and related offenses.He was arraigned before on-call District Judge William Kissner of Palmerton, and taken to the county prison in Nesquehoning after failing to post $100,000 straight cash bail.
