WILKES-BARRE, Pa. (AP) - A former northeastern Pennsylvania casino official and a patron accused of defrauding the casino out of more than $400,000 have pleaded not guilty to federal fraud, theft and money laundering charges.
Former Mohegan Sun Pocono vice president Robert Pellegrini and patron Mark Heltzel entered pleas Wednesday before a Wilkes-Barre magistrate and were freed on their own recognizance. They and server Rochelle Poszeluznyj were charged earlier in Luzerne County with theft, identity theft and criminal conspiracy. County prosecutors have dropped the state charges against the men.State police said part of the server's job was to add free credits as incentives to player's casino cards, but they allege that she passed card and PIN number information to Pellegrini to make duplicates which he gave to Heltzel to use at slot machines.
