Albrightsville man jailed for selling heroin in Monroe County
A Carbon County man who is in jail for selling heroin will appear in district court later this month.
John Dealbertis IV, 53, of Albrightsville, is scheduled to have a preliminary hearing at 10 a.m. April 29 before District Judge Colleen Mancuso of Brodheadsville.Dealbertis faces charges of possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance, criminal use of communication facility, possession of a controlled substance, and possession of drug paraphernalia.He remains incarcerated in the Monroe County Correctional Facility in lieu of $25,000 monetary bail.According to an affidavit of probable cause filed by Detective Kim Lippincott of the Monroe County District Attorney's Office:On April 12, Lippincott met with an informant who said that they could purchase heroin from Dealbertis, the affidavit says.Lippincott said she is familiar with Dealbertis throughout the course of other investigations involving human trafficking, promoting prostitution, and the sale of heroin.The informant said Dealbertis was contacting them by phone.Lippincott and Detective Mario Orlando met with the informant at a predetermined location in Chestnuthill Township. The informant's vehicle was searched and determined to be free of contraband and currency.Lippincott provided the informant with $100and instructed him to purchase a bundle of heroin from Dealbertis.Surveillance was set up in the area of Route 209 and Fawn Valley Drive in Chestnuthill Township.Members of the Monroe County Drug Task Force watched as Dealbertis came to the area driving a Crown Victoria, which was painted white and black, similar to an older model police car.There was a passenger in the front seat, a man with brown curly hair who appeared to be about 25 years old, whose identity was unknown. The vehicle was registered to Dealbertis.Members of the Drug Task Force observed the informant meet with Dealbertis, who was sitting in the driver's seat, and saw a hand-to-hand transaction.They met for about 10-15 seconds, at which time Dealbertis left the area.Lippincott followed the informant and met with them at a predetermined location, where they handed her one bundle of heroin.The heroin, 10 light blue colored baggies, was wrapped in a rubber band.The informant said that they met with Dealbertis and gave him $70, and Dealbertis in turn gave them the bundle of heroin and said, "Let me know how it is."The informant was searched and determined to be free of contraband and/or currency.
