A Schuylkill County driver fled the scene of a crash but was later located and charged.

State police at Schuylkill Haven said the incident occurred at 6:38 p.m. on April 1 along Swopes Valley Road, in Pine Grove Township.Troopers said Steven F. Zimmerman, 49, of Pine Grove, was driving a 1994 Ford F250 truck eastbound when he drove to the right off the road and onto the berm. The truck continued driving with both passenger side wheels in the grass and its driver side wheels still on the road for about 200 feet before striking a large rock and a traffic sign.After impact Zimmerman continued to drive another 200 feet completely off the road and then struck a utility pole, causing major damages. The truck came to rest about 20 feet after striking the pole. Zimmerman then fled the scene.Troopers said Zimmerman, who was not injured, will be charged with several motor vehicle code violations.
