Mahoning Township Police continue to investigate an incident in which a Lehighton Borough Police vehicle with an officer inside was shot at by a pellet gun.

Township police said that at 9:33 p.m. Friday, a borough police officer was parked on Route 209 in a marked police vehicle with its emergency lights activated at Center Street in Mahoning Township.While sitting inside the vehicle, the driver door was shot with a pellet gun.Anyone with information is asked to contact Mahoning Township Police at 570-386-2241.
