Slatington homeowner describes impact of truck hitting her house

Deborah Miller was relaxing on her couch after work when she felt the impact. A large tanker truck crashed into the porch of her 1958 Victorian house on Diamond and Main streets in Slatington at 11:30 p.m., Friday night.

“At first I thought it was a car until I came out and saw it was a truck.”According to Miller, no one inside the residence was injured.Miller who operates a beauty shop in the building has lived at that address for 45 years and says this is not the first time she has experienced this kind of damage.“A few years ago a car took out the smaller pillars on the porch.”She said it appears the structure of the building is undisturbed with the stone and wood porch taking all of the damage.“Sellars came and shored it up,” she said.An investigation is currently underway with details expected to be released Monday from the Slatington Borough Police.
