Large meth trafficking ring busted

A well-armed, large-scale methamphetamine trafficking ring was smashed in a drug bust coordinated by the Schuylkill County District Attorney's office and state police at Schuylkill Haven.

Seven people were taken into custody, with another six yet to be rounded up.The ring delivered meth to the county from a supplier in San Diego, according to police.The investigation began in the fall, using drug buys, search-and-seizure warrants and surveillance.On April 9, authorities seized large amounts of cash, methamphetamine, marijuana, firearms, pipe bombs and stolen items including a Harley-Davidson motorcycle.Total seizures included nine and a half pounds of methamphetamine, a half-pound of marijuana, 72 guns, nine pipe bombs and $103,120 in cash.Ten people were charged with felonies, and three with misdemeanors.
