Woman expelled from ARD program

A Lansford woman was expelled from a special program for first-time offenders in Schuylkill County, but failed to attend the hearing that led to the ruling.

Amber N. Allen, 24, was terminated from the Accelerated Rehabilitative Disposition program by Judge D. Michael Stine.Allen violated the terms of the program by failing to pay fines, costs or restitution, Stine ruled. She now faces a trial on the charges. Allen failed to show up for the March 28 hearing, and Stine issued a bench warrant for her arrest.Rush Township police on June 10, 2014, charged her with possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.Stine on Feb. 19, 2015, accepted Allen into ARD, requiring her to perform 10 hours of community service, and pay costs, fines and fees.Under ARD, an offender does not plead guilty. If she successfully completes the program, her record may be expunged.
