Resentencing slated in LV rape, murder of 12-year-old girl

ALLENTOWN, Pa. (AP) — An eastern Pennsylvania man convicted of the murder of a 12-year-old girl more than a dozen years ago will be resentenced this fall.

The (Allentown) Morning Call (http://bit.ly/1SLDmDL ) reports that a Lehigh County judge Tuesday scheduled a September hearing for 30-year-old Brian Behr of Allentown.Behr pleaded guilty to first-degree murder and rape in the strangulation death of Danni Reese in February 2003, when he was 17. The resentencing order follows a U.S. Supreme Court ban on mandatory life terms for juveniles.At the hearing, Bahr's attorneys can present new evidence about his mental health. The judge may also consider Bahr's behavior while behind bars.In 2009, a Luzerne County judge sentenced Bahr to a consecutive life sentence for attacking guards at the State Correctional Institution at Dallas.–––Information from: The Morning Call,
