A 20-year-old man was killed when the vehicle he was in struck a parked vehicle, then the attached garage of a house and caught fire around 3:35 a.m. April 12 at 1254 N. 27th St., South Whitehall Township.
Lehigh County Coroner Scott Grim identified the man as Johan Murray of of New Tripoli. was pronounced dead at 4:15 a.m. the same day by Lehigh County Deputy Coroner Craig Hanzl.
Grim said an autopsy will be performed Wednesday to determine the exact cause of his death.
According to Grim, the man was ejected from the vehicle.
The coroner's office, along with South Whitehall Township police and the Lehigh County District Attorney's Office are conducting an investigation into the crash.
According to the Lehigh County assessment records, the home is owned by Thomas J. and Theresa M. Wenck.
The American Red Cross is providing emergency assistance to the family of five, Loa Esquilin Garcia, regional communication manager for the American Red Cross Eastern Pennsylvania, emailed.
Garcia said the Red Cross will continue to work with the family and assess any other needs they may have.
