A Coaldale businessman was jailed on Friday charged with deceptive and fraudulent business practices/theft.
State police at Frackville said Anthony Dipierro, 45, of Boneyard Enterprises Corporation, 115 W. Lehigh St., was arrested on a felony warrant Friday and arraigned before District Judge Stephen Bayer, of Tamaqua. He was committed to the county prison in Pottsville in lieu of $50,000 bail.According to troopers in February they initiated an investigation into Boneyard Enterprises, formerly known as WARRS Wrecking LLC. The investigation began when a 37-year-old man from New York state complained that he had ordered a replacement truck bed from Boneyard Enterprises' website by check in June 2015. The victim reported he had never received the truck bed, the website had been shut down, and no one would return his phone calls.Troopers said an investigation revealed that Dipierro ran the day-to-day operations of Boneyard Enterprises and had talked with the victim by phone to negotiate the sale of the truck bed. The victim was led to believe he was ordering a specific truck bed displayed on the webistie, which was in a garage owned by Boneyard Enterprises. Dipierro was also identified as the person who deposited the victim's check.A further investigation indicated that Boneyard Enterprises never possessed the truck bed sold to the victim and never held any other inventory.Troopers said the case remains open pending the preliminary hearing in the case.
