Arner pitches a one-hitter, allowing just one walk while striking out 13 batters. He helps his own cause by collecting three hits, one of them a two-run double. The Indians, coached by Dallas "Tex" Heffner, also receive two hits and two runs from both Harold Long and Roger Ulshafer. Ronnie Moyer adds a pair of hits, while Dick Koch contributes a hit and two runs.
