Coaldale police have filed charges against a Nesquehoning woman stemming from a Feb. 29 traffic stop.

An officer was on patrol at 6:21 p.m. when he saw the driver of a tan Toyota fail to use a turn signal when pulling into the traffic lane in the 200 block of East Ridge Street. After stopping the Toyota, the officer noticed the driver's hands were shaking badly as she handed him an identification card. The card identified her as Aurelia Wilder, 25, of 410 W. Catawissa St.Wilder admitted her driver's license was suspended, related to a previous DUI. When asked if she had any weapons or contraband she opened her purse and showed the officer three syringes, a spoon, aluminum foil and a white straw. She also said there was a packet of heroin in her bra. When emptying the purse the officer found a prescription container filled with suboxone pills and several suboxone strips, for which Wilder did not have a prescription.Wilder said she had the suboxone to keep her "from shooting heroin so much as I'm seven months pregnant."She was charged with possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, driving with a suspended license and failure to make a proper turn.
