D.A.R.E. graduation will be held at 6:30 p.m. today in the Tamaqua Area Middle School, honoring fifth-grade students from Tamaqua and West Penn Elementary and St. Jerome's Regional School who have completed the course.The public is welcome to attend.Tamaqua seniorsThe Tamaqua Senior Citizens met March 31 with 59 members in attendance. President Melody Weicker conducted the business session.Ruthann Feane provided the invocation "So Much More." Penny Schlorf and Joan Wall were added to the sick list. A moment of silence was held in honor of deceased member Louis Gordon.The next meeting will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday at the Tamaqua YMCA, 1201 E. Broad St.The group is open to anyone 55 or older and the YMCA is handicap accessible.Bucket list booksThe Bucket List Book Club meets the first Wednesday of each month at the Tamaqua Community Art Center to discuss must-read books.The selection for April is "Fahrenheit 451" by Ray Bradbury.The art center is located at 125 Pine St.TEPTOThe Tamaqua Elementary Parent Teacher Organization will meet at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Meetings are held in the school library.Art exhibitThe Tamaqua Community Art Center will host an exhibit of the work of the late Robert Quinn. Opening night will be from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday.The art center is located at 125 Pine St., Tamaqua.Bethany ECThe Rev. Kevin Roberts will officiate at the 8 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. worship services this Sunday in Bethany Evangelical Congregational Church.
