Thanks for planning in Eldred Township

At our March 17 meeting, the Eldred Township Planning Commission approved our submittal to the Zoning Hearing Board for the Nestle Waters application. This was a prodigious effort and I want to emphatically thank my fellow planners and the numerous citizens for their hard work, valued and constructive input. By unanimous vote the Eldred Township Planning Commission recommended the Nestle Application be denied. The proposed use is not in harmony with purposes, goals, objectives and standards of the Township Comprehensive Plan and its ordinance.

In addition it should be noted that public comment at the Planning Commission's public meetings on Nestle's application was unanimously, and vociferously, in opposition to the project, and its expected negative impact on current and future uses in the township and the desirability of residing and doing business in the township. The Planning Commission places great weight on the public comment that was received, and believes it is representative of general public sentiment in the township on the project. We encourage residents of Eldred Township and the surrounding area to review this document found on the township website,

www.eldredtwp.org, and offer any comments or suggestions. The planning commission may be making additional submittals to the zoning hearing board and welcomes input. Again I cannot thank my fellow planners enough.Robert B. BoileauChairman, Eldred Township Planning Commission
