Summit Hill School Board became the second in Carbon County to reject a proposed county vocational school. Lansford's board took the same action previously.

Like Lansford, Summit Hill gave pressing financial obligations as the reason for not favoring the proposal.The board recently awarded contracts for renovations of the high school gymnasium and auditorium and felt that the district was unable to finance pupils to the school at this time.In other business, the board accepted the resignation of Dr. James Forrest as athletic physician due to his declining health. He served as athletic doctor for more than 30 years.
