Power outages reported from high winds through area

Several hundred people in the area are still without power because of downed trees and wires because of the high winds overnight and this morning.

Power was out at the Normal Square and Walmart intersections of Route 443. Walmart reopened shortly before 4 p.m. after electricity was restored.

In Carbon County, 280 people are without power, with 195 in Kidder Township and 52 in Mahoning Township. Pockets of outages of East Penn, Palmerton, Penn Forest, Packer, Towamensing and Weissport.

In Monroe County, more than 1,700 are without power, including 290 in Polk, 160 in Chestnuthill, and 19 in Eldred.

In Northampton County, 36 are without power in Lehigh Township.

In Schuylkill County, 89 are without power, including 77 in West PennTownship.
