Harmony Lodge 86, IOOF, held its second annual Past Grand's night on March 23 with a special guest, former member Floyd Zimmerman, and 14 lodge members in attendance.Zimmerman was a member of the lodge from 1950 to 1974 and spoke of the meetings of the past, when the lodge had more than 500 members. He made his way through the "chairs" of the lodge, becoming a Past Grand on April 7, 1952.Nominations for District Deputy Grand Master were accepted, with Timothy Hahn of Shenandoah Lodge 591 elected to the position. Past Grands Ray Boulanger and Tyler Arnold served as tellers for the election.The Harmony Lodge is into its 15th year of re-existence after consolidating in 1987 and then reinstituting in 1999. Anyone interested in membership is welcome to check out the Facebook page "IOOF Harmony Lodge 86."Art exhibitThe Tamaqua Community Art Center will host an exhibit of the work of the late Robert Quinn on April 7.Quinn dabbled with craft projects, and many of his handcrafted hex designs can be seen on barns in the Lehighton area. He also enjoyed painting space and fantasy themes, landscapes and music interpretations.The opening night of the exhibit will be from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.The art center is located at 125 Pine St., Tamaqua.Bucket list booksThe Bucket List Book Club meets at 7 p.m. the first Wednesday of each month in the Tamaqua Community Art Center to discuss must-read books.The selection for the April 6 discussion is "Fahrenheit 451," by Ray Bradbury.The art center is located at 125 Pine St. and all are welcome to join in the discussion.St. Peter's UnionSunday worship services in St. Peter's Union Church in Mantzville are held at 9 a.m. This Sunday's service will include Holy Communion.Also on Sunday, Cub and Girl Scouts will meet at 6 p.m.Next week's activities include: Tuesday, prayer group meets at 5 p.m.; Thursday, Confirmation class meets at 6 p.m., cherub choir rehearsal is at 6:30 p.m., junior choir practice is at 7 p.m. and senior choir rehearses at 7:30 p.m.Calvary LewistownThe Rev. Ed Bean will officiate at the 10:25 a.m. worship service this Sunday in Calvary United Methodist Church in the Lewistown Valley.Sunday school for all ages is at 9:15 a.m.Also on Sunday, a time of praise, worship and Bible study will be held at 6:30 p.m.An hour of praise and prayer is held at 7 p.m. Wednesdays.Zion LewistownPastor Jim Williams will officiate at the 10:30 a.m. worship service this Sunday in Zion Church of the Lewistown Valley. Sunday school classes at 9:15 a.m.Plans for the vacation Bible school will be discussed at a meeting at 7 p.m. April 5.
