Eleven defendants in pending criminal cases were placed in Carbon County's Accelerated Rehabilitation Disposition probation program on Tuesday by President Judge Roger N. Nanovic II.

If a person successfully completes all conditions of the program their record is wiped clean. However, if they fail to complete it, or are revoked from it, then they would face trial on all pending charges. A person does not admit guilt in entering the program.All were placed for a year, unless otherwise noted.Steven Michael Buttner, 28, of Northampton, was placed on a charge of driving under the influence. He was arrested on Oct. 19, 2015, along First Street in Lehighton by state police at Lehighton. A test showed the presence of a controlled substance.He was assessed $600 for the cost of the program and had his license suspended for 60 days.Teresa Rose Demaio,21, of Jim Thorpe, was placed on a DUI charge. She was arrested on July 15, 2015, along Maury Road in Penn Forest Township by state police at Lehighton. A test showed the presence of a controlled substance.She was assessed $600 and her license was suspended for 60 days.Keith William Dube,26, of Bath, was placed on a DUI charge. He was arrested on Oct. 17, 2015, along Route 248 by Palmerton police. A test showed 0.11 BAC.He was assessed $500 and his license was suspended for 30 days.Jeffrey Blair Gilroy,21, of Kingston, Luzerne County, was placed on a DUI charge. He was arrested on Nov. 27, 2014, along Route 903 in Penn Forest Township by state police at Fern Ridge. A test showed 0.17 BAC.He was assessed $600 and his license was suspended for 60 days.Jeffrey Alan Hawk,36, of Palmerton, was placed for six months on a charge of fleeing or attempting to elude police. He was arrested on Dec. 9, 2015, along Third Street by Palmerton police.He was assessed $450 and ordered to render 50 hours of community service.Jean Marion Haydt,47, of Lehighton, was placed on a DUI charge. She was arrested on Sept. 25, 2015, along First Street in Lehighton by state police at Lehighton. A test showed the presence of a controlled substance.She was assessed $600 and her license was suspended for 60 days.Andrea Marie Pavelco, 52, of Slatington, was placed for three months on a charge of possession of marijuana. She was arrested on May 4, 2015, by Lehighton police at the Blue Mountain Health System's Gnaden Huetten Campus.She was assessed $450.Denise C. Rex,66, of Sylvan Beach, New York, and formerly of Lehighton, was placed in three pending cases on charges of forgery and theft. She was charged by Palmerton police for incidents on April 27 and 28 of 2008.She was assessed $650 and ordered to have no contact with the victim, render 50 hours of community service and make total restitution of $2,570. As part of the agreement she paid one-third of that amount or $857 at the proceeding.Judy Louise Shubeck, 42, of Lehighton, was placed on a DUI charge. She was arrested on Sept. 18, 2015, along Bridge Street in Weissport by state police at Lehighton. A test showed 0.16 BAC.She was assessed $500 and her license was suspended for 60 days.Jose Alberto Tigre Yunga, 27, of Upper Darby, Delaware County, was placed on a DUI charge. He was arrested on July 4, 2015, at Beltzville State Park in Franklin Township by park rangers after his vehicle struck two parked vehicles. No test results were listed in the arrest report.He was assessed $450 and ordered to render 50 hours of community service and make restitution for damages in an amount to be determined by the adult probation office.Matthew Joseph Torres,23, of Whitehall, was placed for six months on a charge of possession of marijuana. He was arrested on Nov. 5, 2015, along Route 248 eastbound by Palmerton police following a vehicle stop.He was assessed $450 and ordered to get a drug and alcohol evaluation and follow any recommendations for treatment.All DUI defendants were also ordered to follow any recommendations from their drug and alcohol evaluation.All defendants must also pay court costs of about $1,000 and a $50 per month supervision fee while in the program.
