A Slatington woman who admitted to drug and theft charges in Rush Township will serve up to a year in Schuylkill County prison.

Heather Ungood, 33, was charged by Rush Township police with possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia on Jan. 12, 2015. On Jan. 17, 2015, she was charged with retail theft and criminal mischief.President Judge William E. Baldwin on March 16 sentenced Ungood to jail. However, he gave her credit for the time served from June 13, 2015, to July 17, 2015, and Ungood was granted immediate parole.The charge of possession of a controlled substance was dropped.He sentenced her to 11 months probation on the retail theft charge, to run consecutive to the jail sentence. One count of criminal mischief was dropped.Baldwin also sentenced nine people charged by local police to probation. In addition to their sentences, all are ordered to pay court costs and fees.Joseph Nortavage, 46, of Tamaqua: Charged by Tamaqua police with driving under the influence, driving while his operating privileges were suspended, and driving an unregistered vehicle on March 3, 2015. Baldwin sentenced him to 48 hours to six months in jail and fined him $500 on the DUI charge. Nortavage was also fined $75 for the unregistered vehicle.One count of DUI and a count of driving while his operating privileges were suspended were dropped.Jonathan Kechula, 41, of Barnesville: Charged by Mahanoy City police with possession of drug paraphernalia and driving while his operating privileges were suspended on June 10, 2014.Baldwin sentenced him to 12 months probation. A count of driving while his operating privileges were suspended was dropped.Elias Cortes,25, of Easton: Charged by Tamaqua police with possession of a small amount of marijuana and disorderly conduct on May 25, 2015.Baldwin sentenced him to 30 days probation on the drug charge and fined him $75 for disorderly conduct.Matthew Curvey, 28, of Mahanoy Plane: Charged by Tamaqua police with possession of drug paraphernalia, driving while his operating privileges were suspended, and driving an uninspected vehicle on Feb. 22, 2015.Baldwin sentenced him to 12 months probation and fined him $25 for no inspection.A count of driving while his operating privileges were suspended was dropped.William Lipshaw,33, of Mahanoy City: Charged by Mahanoy City police with institutional vandalism, resisting arrest and disorderly conduct on May 8, 2015.Baldwin sentenced him to six months probation. Counts of institutional vandalism and resisting arrest were dropped.Marc Corona,22, of Mahanoy City: Charged by Mahanoy City police with giving police false identification on April 10, 2015.Baldwin sentenced him to 12 months probation. One count of giving police false identification was dropped.Heather Pryce,34, of Ashland: Charged by Tamaqua police with possession of a controlled substance on April 17, 2015.Baldwin sentenced her to 12 months probation.Tyler Kline,23, of Tamaqua: Charged by Tamaqua police with possession of a controlled substance, simple assault and harassment on June 10, 2015.Baldwin sentenced him to 12 months probation. One count each of simple assault and harassment were dropped.Michael Bowman,32, of Tamaqua: Charged by Tamaqua police with possession of a controlled substance on April 17, 2015.Baldwin sentenced him to 12 months probation.
