The 37th Annual American Cancer Society Telethon will be held the weekend of April 9 and 10 at Penn's Peak in Jim Thorpe. The 24-hour event will be televised on Channel 13 on Blue Ridge Cable and on Channel 90 in the Tamaqua-Mahanoy City Service Electric Cable area and on Channels 2 and 50 in the Lehigh Valley on the Service Electric Cable system.

A salute to survivors segment is scheduled for 7 p.m. April 9. Survivors are encouraged to talk briefly about their battles with cancer.Anyone interested in being a part of the survivors segment should check in that day at the front door before 6:30 p.m.A memorial segment will air at 6 p.m. April 10.
