A young Summit Hill man escaped serious injury Thursday afternoon when involved in a crash along Pines Hill Road in West Penn Township.

The crash occurred just after 6 p.m. as the male was traveling east and lost control. His pickup crossed the roadway, striking a tree and then a utility pole before coming to rest on the roadway.

West Penn Fire company responded to the scene with fire police maintaining traffic control at the scene. West Penn police are investigating the incident.
